but
We were lucky enough to score a family pass to the Sydney Aquarium, courtesy of the faboosh folk at Hausmann Communications and I figured we may as well give it a try. What could be the harm, right?
So last Tuesday, Mum and I with the 2 squidlets in tow, set out for our first big day trip to the city.
The Bug & The Boy were immediately excited at the prospect of riding a train.
The Dugong was a clear winner with us girls but the Boy was absolutely enthralled with the Mantaray - I think maybe it was his smiley face? The Boy would watch him swim over the top then chase after him, squealing "HEY YOU! COME BACK HERE!"
These fuckers are the creepiest fuckers of the sea. Just looking at photos of them makes me shudder. One was the largest crab/lobster type thing you've ever laid eyes on and the other is some sort of ginormous sea spider. Yep, not a fan of either!
L-R: The Bug with the gigantic Lego Mermaid, the Boy watching and taking in the sights and the Bug, posing with Lego Moby Dick.
Mummy found herself (and subsequently felt up) a few Lego hunks too!

The squids were even taken with the educational side of things too. The Bug had a ball, playing with the displays and The Boy tried his hand at catching a fish with his bare hands. Bear Grylls can let out a sigh of relief as my son has the patience of his mother and gave up within 30 seconds!
More pretty fish!
This shot was at the last stop before the finish line. Mum & I collapsed down on the stairs, exhausted from spending the past 90 minutes chasing the skids about and let them run free for a few minutes. Luckily for us, they were pretty taken with the view and I was able to snap this shot which was my fave shot of the day.
... and of course, what amazing day out would be complete with abit of dancing in the rain?
*Disclaimer: Hausmann provided me with the family pass for our trip but there was no expectation that I blog about our day. I also did not receive any payment for this. This is pretty much just a braggy post where I show off how cute my kids are!
