What the hell do SAHM's do all day?

You may remember my dilemma from a few weeks back.

The dilemma of the unplanned pregnancy and university.

Oh shit, indeed!

Well, the universe heeded my dramatic cries of "Where shall I go? What shall I do?" ...

Yeah, you may have to turn the volume up abit. I squint alot too. Soz!

If you're not keen on watching vlogs then just skip to this part and tell me, what the hell is it that SAHM's do all day to keep busy?

I is going crazy. Already.

16 really, really ridiculously good looking comments:

  1. We blog and read blogs and comment on blogs and ummm eat cake?

In all seriousness, once you have a child in school you really do become busy doing school stuff. 9-3 isn't as long as people assume. Then Greenie and I do playgroup, or library, or hang at the park. Bluey has things on after school 3 times a week. I really enjoy watching paint dry, in silence. so obviously I am very busy between all of that. ;)

  2. You really want to know? Dress kids, feed kids, cook, clean, wash stuff, boob babies while dicking around on the internet, entertain kids, chauffeur bigger kids to activities, watch bad reality TV shows while boobing babies, homework, feed more kids, put 'em to bed then have a large glass of wine because tomorrow you have to do it all over again. :)

  3. I read. I read and read and read. It helps me escape and pretend that i'm not just home all day with a 3 year old for company.

  4. I have NO idea as I have worked fulltime for 23 years (23 YEARS HOLLY, I IS TIRED!) but what I dream about doing with my time is being able to engage in school activities, cooking (sorry I know you hate cooking, but baking can be a lot of fun), reading, knitting, crochet, more reading, kids crafts and maybe a spot of reading. Early retirement is any. day. now.

  5. I can't stay anything about being a stay at home mom (mainly because my body is fucked and I can't even stay pregnant), but I felt I had to chime in and say that I HATE that Chipmunks movie. With a fire-y passion.

What I have observed, however, is that stay at home moms work their asses off. I salute you and your next year at home!

  6. When I was doing the SAHM thing, I used to go out. A lot. Whether that was to the park, mothers group, rhyme time at the library, ABA or just down the street. I hated being at home alone with small children, so I got them out into the big bad world as much as possible. :)

  9. Well...this SAHM is the slave to a non-sleepy baby & a 3 year old who constantly calls, "mama"! I feed them all & their father & make and attend all manner of appointments, play dates and in between times clean a bit, wash a bloody lot of clothes, worry about money and pay bills. Oh and tweet the bloody annoying things my kids do!

  11. Hiya from a stranger and first time commentator! I am a uni lecturer, so while I have kids I can't say I know a lot about staying at home. I do the crazy crazy juggle. But I was thinking - why don't you do a unit or two of online study? Kinda keeps your hand in, the momentum going and gives you an outside interest, but if you just did one unit it would not be overwhelming. Almost all uni's do it, or look to Open Universities Australia (not quite as good imo).
Don't worry about exams at all - no lecturer is going to be crazy enough to expect you to do that! They might just want you to do another assessment before hand, or hand something in later - you can usually have 3 or so months, tho' I guess that is always a problem with a newborn!
    Best of luck -

  12. LOVE the VLOG Holly! Wish i had the guts to do one :-/
As to your question, I am a SAHM, but i study full time by correspondence. (though most of my study is done between the hours of 9pm-12am) my day consists of cleaning and "playing" with the kids.

Sucks the decision was made for you by their daycare :-(

  13. Hello my lovely! Well, I like you spend the day cleaning and picking up after the four other people that get to leave the prison cell for 7 to 12 hours a day. After while that of course becomes a total pain, because said mentioned other do come back home eventually and muck it up all over again..bringing school work and dirty clothes with them UGH! So I discovered digital designing, no mess pure creativity to pass the time and couponing OMG couponing was salvation. Getting products for near nothing makes me giddy LMAO!! Long baths and NAPS..(oh I am a lover of naps) and just going and grabbing a lunch anywhere alone are small serenity. I know you're gonna do wonderful at it love, damn shame I didn't live closer..it would be wonderful :)
