If you're a regular around these parts, you'd know that I don't really attend many bloggy events. It's not that I don't want to but navigating the city with a four year old, a three year old and a baby? Trying to find a park? Going the wrong way down one way streets? Uhh, no. I don't think my last strand of sanity could handle that!
The other week though, I received an invite to a high tea hosted by Inner-B, focusing on the importance of 'me time' for Mamas and a chance to check out their new range. Organisation porn, cake and a group of bloggy gal pals? Winning!
And of course, what kind of 'me time' would it be if there were preschoolers running about, fighting and jumping on chairs? My MIL was gorgeous enough to step in and look after the bigger two, leaving Abi and I to a day of girly goodness. Double winning!
The high tea was on Friday 14th at this swanky little cafe called Little Darling Diner in Balmain - and the set up was holy freaking amazeballs. Like, how I want my house. You know, when my children have grown up and will therefore not ruin everything within a 5km radius!
Now, I am a walking contradiction - I ADORE order and organisation but I am terribly unorganised. Go figure! I double book, I forget ... I drive myself mental. So I figured the High Tea would be a fab opportunity to check out Inner B's range of 'organisation porn', this term comes thanks to Sonia who whispered it to me while I was looking over the display. A girl after my own heart right there!
Without sounding all Danoz Direct on you, I have to say that Inner-B do EVERYTHING from the gorgeously bright Mum organiser (which I am planning to get my hands on ASAP. Yellow, come to Mama!) to meal planner note pads to wellbeing and healthy living notepads, even notepads for new Mamas to help them keep track of baby's sleeping and feeding and one for the babysitter.
Of course, Abi was right in her squishy, babeh element! After deciding she was hungry while we were stuck in the middle of Sydney peak hour and sang me the song of her people for a good 15 minutes - and yes, inducing multiple let downs.
The Little Miss decided she would morph into angel mode and spent the entire event sleeping peacefully, feeding or quietly looking around. She was happily passed from bloggy Aunty to the next too.
She even had a meditation session in the arms of the divine Nicky Arthur who is a Sydney-based Yoga instructor and author of "How To Be A Happier Mum", which I scored a copy of on the day and am looking forward to being able to have a squiz of ... You know, sometime in the next 15 years!
And of course, what blogging events would be complete without a whole load of laughter and hugging and SQUEEEEEEE'ing? Have you ever been in a room full of bloggers before? Especially when some of them are meeting for the first time? The vibe is electric - Arms are being thrown everywhere in hugs, girls are jumping up and down and there is lots, like LOTS of laughter ... and facebooking/tweeting/instagramming. Of course!
So thank you Inner B and Stiletto Media for a fab morning! I enjoy the pants off that high tea and Abi is now a fully fledged blogger babe ... complete with name tag!
Can. Not. Handle. The. Cute!
