Dear social media, Ava needs your help.

Dear Social Media,

I am not one to really jump on board with online fundraising but I do believe that social media can be for social good so here I am.

Once upon a few years ago, a group of new-ish Mamas hung out on a Myspace page called The Mummy Hideaway. I've spoken about it here. Over time, many of us have gone separate ways but right now, we are banding back together for one of our own.

Ava is five years old. A beautiful, healthy five year old girl that has played with my beautiful, healthy almost five year old girl.

On Sunday, 19th August she was at home in Canberra and celebrating her fifth birthday with a fairy party, attended by lots of fairy friends.

Today, Ava is on dialysis in Sydney at Westmead Children's Hospital, awaiting a kidney transplant. She was diagnosed with post infectious glomerulonephritis (GN) which has essentially shut down her kidneys.

It is so completely, unbelievably scary to think that a simple infection has taken down such a vibrant, healthy little being so quickly, so ruthlessly. My heart aches at the thought that this could have happened at any of us, or our babies.

The idea of "Mummy Circle - Ava's Auction" has been born to help ease the load that Ava's parents, Tegan and James are carrying at the moment. Every thing in their lives have been put on hold for their darling girl but, as we all know, bills and rents don't take a holiday.

Holly and Mel, the WAHM's behind Pookie & Me and Leroy & Lola Kids are running Ava's Auction.

So, consider this a call out, a request:

- Please like Mummy Circle - Ava's Auction on Facebook and keep an eye out for the upcoming auction.

- Please share this story, be that on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, wherever. The more people we can have involved, the better. Many hands make for a lighter load.

- Please consider contributing to the auction if you are a WAHM.
I am offering free blog advertising to WAHM's who are able to contribute.
My media kit is available for your perusal if necessary.

I believe in social media for social good and I would love to see my community, my playground able to help another Mama and her babe in need x

P.S: I can not believe I just wrote a blog post without a single swear. HEY-O!
